Maintenance

With regular maintenance by our specialists ensures a longer life cycle of your boats.

Boats will last longer and buying new boats could be postponed.

Service, re-varnish and polish your shell – it will look and feel like new!

Description of overhaul

A complete re-varnish consists of the following work**:

• Careful cleaning of the boat, which in fact is a minute inspection.
• Sanding down of existing varnish or gel coat.
• Repair of minor scratches and dents.
• The eventual spraying of (in most cases) three layers of superior two-component varnish and sometimes prior to this a sprayable priming and/or a "pre-varnish". (Depending on the background)
• Supplying and fitting new slides, stemball and in case of a boat with decking (Taft): new decking.
• Checking of fin, bulkhead seals, seats, stretchers, riggers and steering. (We will charge for these items only as required).

** Excluding major damage repairs, e.g. perforations & deep gouges/scratches, damaged washboards, broken shoulders, seriously abraded or damaged finish, etc. (We will discuss these repairs with the client first) An overhaul is a handy time to incorporate major repairs

Damage repair

In case of damage we make an initial detailed report and estimate of the costs of the repairs. We will send you this quotation / offer together with a summary of the work. (After consulting your insurance company)

You will send us the signed quotation / offer and then we will plan the repairs in our working scheme. In case you eventually decide not to have your boat repaired by us, you will receive an invoice for this carefully made quotation.

We are specialised in repairs of Douglas, Empacher, Filippi, Hudson, Euroracing, Schellenbacher, Baumgarten, Janousek, Aylings, Vespoli and Stämpfli racing shells. We repair boats exclusively with materials of high quality.

Transport of your boat

You must arrange transport of the boat yourself. Of course you can do the transport yourself, or leave it to an expert.

We recommend Sybrand Treffers for your boat transport to our workshop. On a regular basis transports take place within Europe. You can contact us for contact details.

Our "mailbox"

You can bring (or collect) your boat 24 hours a day and in the weekends too. Next to our workshop is a boat rack, which a journalist once amusingly described as a mailbox. You can put your boat in the rack when we are absent.
